The first citizen of India is the president of India. The President of India is elected by an electoral committee composed of elected members of the Parliament, Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and Vidhan Sabha. Till 2021, 14 Indian presidents have served the country as President since the adaptation of the Constitution of India in 1950. The first president of India was Rajendra Prasad. The President of India should be a citizen of India and the minimum age to be a President is 35 years. He or she should qualify the conditions to be elected as a member of Lok. He or she should not hold any office of profit under the Central Government, State government, or any public authority.

List of Indian Presidents (1950-2022)
The Constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949 (It came into force on 26th January 1950) and Dr Rajendra Prasad was elected as the first constitutional head of the state, the President of India. Ram Nath Kovind, the 14th President of India, completed his term in July 2022. Though he was eligible, he did not contest for re-election. As a result, Draupadi Murmu in July 2022, became the 15th Indian President, appointed by the electoral college.

President of India 2023 Draupadi Murmu
The results of the presidential election were made public on July 21, 2022, and Draupadi Murmu was named the new president of India. The second female President of India and the first tribal woman is Draupadi Murmu. As the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate, Draupadi Murmu held the position of Jharkhand’s first female governor. When she was chosen to serve on the Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat Council in 1997, she first entered politics from Odisha. She assumed the position of chair of Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat in 2000, and she also held the position of national vice president of the BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha.
