The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Shakti Dubey has emerged as the topper, securing the All India Rank 1. Harshita Goyal claimed the second spot, while Dongre Archit Parag achieved the third rank.

Total 1,009 Candidates Recommended for Appointment
This year, a total of 1,009 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various prestigious posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Central Services. The selected candidates belong to diverse categories and academic backgrounds.

Meet the Toppers of UPSC CSE 2024
Shakti Dubey (AIR 1): A graduate in Biochemistry from the University of Allahabad, she chose Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject.
Harshita Goyal (AIR 2): Holds a B.Com degree from MS University of Baroda and also opted for Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject.
Dongre Archit Parag (AIR 3): Completed his B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VIT, Vellore, and chose Philosophy as his optional.
Shah Margi Chirag (AIR 4): An engineering graduate in Computer Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, with Sociology as her optional subject.
Aakash Garg (AIR 5): Graduated with a B.Tech in Computer Science from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, and selected Sociology as his optional.

About the UPSC Civil Services Examination
The Civil Services Examination is one of the most prestigious and competitive exams in India. Conducted annually by the UPSC, it is held in three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main (Written) Examination
- Personality Test (Interview)
For the 2024 cycle:
- The Preliminary Exam was held on June 16, 2024, with 9,92,599 applicants, out of which 5,83,213 appeared.
- 14,627 candidates qualified for the Main Examination conducted in September 2024.
- From these, 2,845 candidates were shortlisted for the Personality Test (Interview).
