History of National Technology Day:
It’s Day was first officially celebrated on May 11, 1999. The main purpose of the day was to recognize scientific and technological achievements.
On May 11, India celebrated National Technology Day to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Pokhran nuclear test in 1998.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee, then Prime Minister, marked it a significant day and for the first time, Technology Day came into existence in 1999.
The Council for Technology Development declared May 11 as the National Technology Day. It is a day to celebrate the technological development of all scientists, researchers, and engineers and their contributions to the field.
