Launch of PM MITRA Park Inaugurated in Amravati, Maharashtra to Foster Textile and Apparel Industry Growth: Aims to Attract ₹10,000 Crore Investment and Generate 300,000 Job Opportunities

Location and Infrastructure of PM MITRA Park in Amravati

Conveniently situated in Nandgaon Peth, adjacent to the Additional Amravati Industrial Area (MIDC), PM MITRA Park spans over a contiguous land area of 1,020 acres. The park enjoys a favorable location just 30 kilometers away from the Mumbai Nagpur Samruddhi Highway and 147 kilometers from the nearest port, the Wardha Dry Port.

One of the advantages of PM MITRA Park is its status as a brownfield park, which means it already possesses crucial infrastructure in place. This includes well-developed roads, a reliable water supply system, and a readily available electricity network. The presence of essential infrastructure ensures a smooth and efficient operational environment for industries and businesses within the park.

Government’s Initiative for PM MITRA Parks

The Government of India has initiated the establishment of 7 PM MITRA Parks across the country, aimed at boosting the textile industry. These parks will provide world-class industrial infrastructure to attract substantial investments, including foreign direct investment (FDI), and foster innovation and job creation within the sector. The PM MITRA Parks, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F concept, aim to position India as a global hub for textile manufacturing and exports.

The initiative aims to enhance the industry’s competitiveness, promote economies of scale, and attract international players to manufacture in India. It includes parks located in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

PM MITRA Parks introduce a unique model

The PM MITRA Parks aim to offer exceptional infrastructure, plug-and-play facilities, and specialized training and research resources that cater to the specific needs of the textile industry. This unique model brings together the central and state governments to collaborate in attracting investments, fostering innovation, and creating employment opportunities, with the ultimate goal of establishing India as a global leader in textile manufacturing and exports.

These parks are expected to attract investments worth approximately Rs. 70,000 crores. and generate employment for around 2 million people, making a significant contribution to the Indian economy. By providing a supportive ecosystem for the textile industry, including streamlined processes, skilled workforce development, and access to research and development facilities, the PM MITRA Parks aim to propel India’s textile sector to new heights of success and global competitiveness.
