History
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which met from September 14, 2021, to September 13, 2022, has established the International Day of Women in Diplomacy (IDWID). In accordance with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UNGA adopted a resolution on June 20, 2022, recognizing the value of women’s contributions to diplomacy and the imperative need for equitable involvement of women in decision-making. The 24th of June was consequently declared the official International Day of Women in Diplomacy.
