Role of Civil Service
The Civil Service of India, often referred to as the backbone of our nation by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, has played a crucial role in our country’s journey since Independence. It has faced various challenges and allegations over the years due to a few individuals engaging in unethical practices. However, it’s undeniable that the bureaucracy has been instrumental in keeping our nation stable during turbulent times.
To put it simply, bureaucrats are like fine wine; they improve with age. Some may argue that talent is more important than experience, but think of it this way: when we get a new car at home, we don’t immediately sell our old car to a scrap dealer. Instead, we sell it to someone who values and intends to restore it. Similarly, experience is irreplaceable, but it does require occasional updates to perform effectively in an ever-changing world and tackle new challenges.
