Source Regions

Source Regions

Air Masses as characters that come to life in specific areas known as source regions. These are like the birthplaces where these air characters form, with high-pressure belts in the sub-tropics creating tropical air masses and areas around the poles giving rise to polar air masses. The source regions are like the hometowns that establish a cozy relationship with these air characters, sharing heat and moisture, creating a perfect equilibrium.

Now, when these air characters decide to venture out from their hometowns, their upper levels, akin to their personalities, tend to hold on to their unique traits for a longer time. This happens because these air masses are like steady and stable individuals, not really into wild and turbulent activities that could change them quickly. It’s like they’re resistant to change, making conduction and radiation less effective in their stagnant air adventures.
