Content
President Droupadi Murmu recently unveiled the new flag and insignia of the Supreme Court of India during the National Conference of District Judiciary in New Delhi.
The new flag, designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi, features a blue background adorned with three significant symbols: the Ashoka Chakra, representing India’s legal and cultural heritage; the Supreme Court Building, signifying the institution of justice in India; and the Constitution of India, which underscores the Supreme Court’s role as the guardian of the Constitution.
The insignia includes the Sanskrit phrase “Yato Dharmastato Jayah,” inscribed in Devanagari script, which translates to “Where there is Dharma, there is victory.” This phrase symbolizes the Supreme Court’s unwavering commitment to justice and righteousness and occurs 13 times in the epic Mahabharata.
The flag will be available in various formats, including cross table flat, single table flag, pole flag, and wooden frame versions, allowing for versatility in its display.
