The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) is organizing the second National Online Essay Writing Competition to foster youth awareness about good governance and public accountability.
Celebrating Resilience and Role of CAG in Democracy
The theme for this year’s National Online Essay Writing Competition is ‘Celebrating the Resilience of Indian Democracy and the Role of CAG of India.’
This competition serves as an exceptional platform for young minds to articulate their perspectives on the importance of the CAG as a crucial institution, its constitutional mandate, and its significant contribution to the democratic governance of the country.
Eligibility and Submission Guidelines of National Online Essay Writing Competition By CAG
Participants must meet the following criteria:
- The participant should not be more than 25 years old as of 20 July 2023.
- They must be currently enrolled in a course of study at any institution recognized by any University in India.
- Employees of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are not eligible to participate.
- Only one entry per participant is allowed. Multiple entries from a participant will lead to disqualification.
The competition welcomes essays written in both Hindi and English, with a maximum length of 1500 words. Participants must submit their entries online as attachments in a single email to the following address: essay2023@cag.gov.in. It is crucial to avoid mentioning the participant’s name, email, or any other personal details in the body of the essay to avoid disqualification.
Timeline and Evaluation for CAG National Online Essay Writing Competition
The competition opens for entries from 10:00 hrs on 21 July 2023 and the deadline for submission is 17:00 hrs on 20 August 2023. Essays submitted after this period will not be considered.
The evaluation committee will assess the essays based on original thinking, depth of knowledge, clear reasoning, quality of argument, writing fluency, and critical presentation. The committee will declare the results on 27 October 2023.
Exciting Prizes Await Winners of CAG National Online Essay Writing Competition
Attractive cash prizes await the winning entries in this competition. The first prize winner will be awarded ₹30,000, the second prize is ₹20,000, and the third prize amounts to ₹15,000. These awards will be formally presented during the special Audit Diwas function, scheduled for 15 November 2023.
