Introduction
A new Mixed Reality (MR) programme has been launched in India by Meta, giving a $250,000 incentive to help local companies and developers create experiences and apps. Selected participants in the programme will get financial awards, coaching from Meta Reality Labs experts, and the chance to join Meta’s expanding developer ecosystem as part of its mission to promote innovation and create a national XR technology ecosystem.
Building the XR Ecosystem in India
The VP for Meta in India, Sandhya Devanathan, demonstrates Meta’s dedication to creating the XR ecosystem in that country. The Presence Platform seeks to improve virtual experiences and increase their accessibility as part of Meta’s metaverse vision.
Monetary Grant and Mentorship
The programme will choose up to five Indian entrepreneurs and developers to get a financial award along with excellent coaching from Meta Reality Labs experts. The chance to post their creations to Quest App Lab and earn visibility within Meta’s developer community will also be available to selected participants. At the conclusion of the programme, Meta furthermore wants to introduce chosen businesses to well-known local venture capital funds.
