MeitY Launches Phase Three of Digital India

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the third phase of its programme to boost the digital skills of government officials. This initiative aims to equip officials from both Central and State governments with the necessary training in essential digital areas, helping them better navigate the growing demands of a tech-driven world.

  • Digital Public Infrastructure: Building and managing online systems that help deliver government services to people more efficiently.
  • Contract and Procurement Management: Overseeing how the government buys and sells goods and services, making sure everything is fair and well-organized.
  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning: Using advanced tech to make smarter decisions and improve how things work.
  • Managing Large Digital Transformation Projects: Guiding big projects that introduce new technologies to modernize and improve systems.
  • Digital Governance: Enhancing how governments use technology to better serve and engage with citizens.
  • Data Management: Effectively and securely handling large volumes of data to ensure it’s used wisely and protected.

How are the training programmes being conducted?

Specialized training programs are popping up across the country, and one of the latest began on September 10, 2024, at the India Habitat Centre in Delhi. This session is part of a series aimed at boosting digital skills among officials. The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is spearheading the effort, with support from the National Institute for Smart Governance (NISG). Together, these organizations are ensuring that the training is expertly guided and smoothly organized.
