  1. Delhi, officially the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, is a city and union territory in India.
  2. It is bordered by Haryana on three sides and Uttar Pradesh to the east.
  3. Delhi has served as the capital for various kingdoms and empires, including the Pandavas, Tomars, Delhi Sultanate, and the Mughals.
  4. Prominent geographical features of Delhi include the Yamuna flood plains and the Delhi ridge.
  5. The Yamuna River, a sacred river in Hinduism, historically marked the boundary between Punjab and UP, providing fertile alluvial soil but also causing recurrent floods.
  6. The Hindon River separates Ghaziabad from the eastern part of Delhi.
  7. The Delhi ridge encircles the west, northeast, and northwest parts of the city, originating from the Aravalli Range in the south.
