GPSC Eligibility: Age Limit & GPSC Exam Qualification
A candidate must be an Indian Citizen for applying for GPSC. This is the basic criterion for most of the government exams in the country. Apart from that several criteria like Educational Qualification, Age Relaxations, are also there. The following criteria are set by the GPSC for the Civil Services to be eligible for the exam.
- GPSC Eligibility: General
- The candidate must be a citizen of India
- For reservation benefits, the Candidate must have a domicile of Gujarat
- GPSC Eligibility: Educational Qualification
- The candidate must be graduated from a recognized University.
- The candidate must have basic knowledge of computers.
- Candidate must know Hindi/Gujarati/both.
- GPSC Eligibility: Age Relaxation
- Relaxation is given as per the category of Candidates. GPSC age limit for the general category is different as compared to reserved category candidates.
- The age of Candidates must lie between 20 and 35.
- SC/ST/EWS will be given an additional 5 years of relaxation.
- Woman Candidates are given an extra 5 years of relaxation.
- Category of Reserved woman will get 10 years of relaxation.
- PWD will get an additional 10 years of relaxation.
- Ex-Servicemen will be provided an additional 5 years relaxation, but up to the age of 45 only.

GPSC Exam Pattern
GPSC Exam is conducted in 3 stages, i.e., Preliminary Test, Mains, and Interview. The first stage is the Preliminary Test of objective type, which has to be cleared to sit in the Mains Examination. The second stage is the main examination which consists of both Objective and Subjective types. Candidates who clear the Mains Examination are then sent to the final round that is the Interview.
