Hardwar Dubey, a top politician in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a representative from Uttar Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, passed suddenly. Elected in November 2020, the late Dubey, aged 74, served as a member of the Rajya Sabha. He had previously held the position of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly member representing Agra Cantonment in the 1990s and served as a minister in the Kalyan Singh cabinet in 1991. Prior to his Rajya Sabha tenure, the late Dubey, closely associated with the Sangh Parivar and its offshoot Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), held the roles of state spokesman and vice president of the BJP in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
BJP leaders express grief
Active in the politics of Agra, former Minister of State Dubey was also a two-time MLA. BJP leaders have expressed grief over his death. BJP MP from Meerut, Rajendra Agarwal tweeted, “Received the sad news of the demise of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Honorable Rajya Sabha MP Hardwar Dubey. I pray to God to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the family. Humble tribute.”
BJP MP from Fatehpur Sikri, Rakumar Chahad wrote, “Received the sad news of the demise of senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Hardwar Dubey. This is an irreparable loss to the BJP family. I pray Shri Ram to give him a place in his feet and give courage to his family members to bear this suffering. Humble tribute. Om Shanti.”
