GPSC is responsible for selecting Civil Servants in Gujarat. Annually, GPSC releases vacancies for diverse state services, garnering a substantial influx of applications. The application process occurs through the online portal www.gpsc.gujarat.gov.in, exclusively for eligible candidates. GPSC OJAS eligibility encompasses educational qualifications, age brackets, nationality, and supplementary prerequisites. The age range for GPSC spans between 20 to 35 years, with those meeting these conditions being eligible to apply for the vacancies.

GPSC Exam Dates: Calendar & Important Dates

GPSC is usually conducted in the month of October each month. Its advertisement comes around the month of January every year. The following are the tentative dates for the 2023 cycle.

GPSC Eligibility: Age Limit & GPSC Exam Qualification

A candidate must be an Indian Citizen for applying for GPSC. This is the basic criterion for most of the government exams in the country. Apart from that several criteria like Educational Qualification, Age Relaxations, are also there. The following criteria are set by the GPSC for the Civil Services to be eligible for the exam.

  • GPSC Eligibility: General
    • The candidate must be a citizen of India
    • For reservation benefits, the Candidate must have a domicile of Gujarat
  • GPSC Eligibility: Educational Qualification
    • The candidate must be graduated from a recognized University.
    • The candidate must have basic knowledge of computers.
    • Candidate must know Hindi/Gujarati/both.
  • GPSC Eligibility: Age Relaxation
    • Relaxation is given as per the category of Candidates. GPSC age limit for the general category is different as compared to reserved category candidates.
    • The age of Candidates must lie between 20 and 35.
    • SC/ST/EWS will be given an additional 5 years of relaxation.
    • Woman Candidates are given an extra 5 years of relaxation.
    • Category of Reserved woman will get 10 years of relaxation.
    • PWD will get an additional 10 years of relaxation.
    • Ex-Servicemen will be provided an additional 5 years relaxation, but up to the age of 45 only.

GPSC Exam: How to Apply?

To apply for GPSC exams, a candidate needs to follow the following steps.

  1. Visit the official Website of GPSC by clicking on this link.
  2. Notifications must be read carefully.
  3. Select the link for which you want to apply.
  4. Register yourself on the website by entering the required details.
  5. Once registered, login by using the ID and password generated.
  6. Fill up the application form properly.
  7. Upload your Photograph and Signature.
  8. Scrutinize the application form for any discrepancies.
  9. Pay the required fee on the website via Credit/Debit Card, or Net Banking.
  10. Scrutinize the application form again.
  11. Submit the Application Form.
  12. Take its printout for future reference communications with the GPSC.

GPSC Exam Pattern

GPSC Exam is conducted in 3 stages, i.e., Preliminary Test, Mains, and Interview. The first stage is the Preliminary Test of objective type, which has to be cleared to sit in the Mains Examination. The second stage is the main examination which consists of both Objective and Subjective types. Candidates who clear the Mains Examination are then sent to the final round that is the Interview.
