UPSC Civil Services 2024: Share Your Photo with Name and Date – What’s New This Year?

UPSC Civil Services 2024

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has kicked off the online registration process for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024. If you’re interested, you can visit upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in to fill out the UPSC CSE Prelims Application Form. But hey, before you dive in, make sure to give those guidelines for uploading your photograph and signature a good read. It’s crucial to get those right, so take your time and check out the complete guidelines provided here.

Guidelines for Your Photo and Signature: How to Upload for UPSC Civil Services 2024 Prelims Exam

  • When candidates upload their photograph, it must not be older than 10 days from the start of the online application process.
  • Please ensure that the photograph clearly states the candidate’s name and the date it was taken.
  • The candidate’s face should occupy three-fourths of the space in the photograph.
  • Candidates must maintain consistency in their appearance throughout the examination process, including the Preliminary, Main (Written), and Interview/Personality Test stages. For example, if a candidate uploads a photo with a beard, they must maintain the same appearance during all stages of the examination.
  • Before starting the online application, candidates must scan their photograph and signature in .jpg format, ensuring each file does not exceed 300 KB and is not less than 20 KB in size.
  • Candidates must have details of a valid Photo ID Card (such as Aadhar Card, Voter Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, or any other government-issued photo ID) while filling out the online application form. Candidates should carry this Photo ID for all future references and during the examination/Personality Test.
  • Applicants should avoid submitting multiple applications. We’ll prioritize the application with the higher Registration ID (RID), and we won’t adjust any fee paid under one RID for another.
  • Applicants must provide valid and active email IDs while filling out their Application Form, as the Commission may use electronic communication during different stages of the examination process.

Conclusion

The deadline to submit your application for the UPSC CSE Prelims is March 5, 2024. To apply, you’ll need to go online to upsconline.nic.in. Don’t forget, you must first register yourself on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform on the Commission’s website before you can fill out the application for the exam. Make sure you complete this step before moving on to the application process.
