The UPSC civil services examination stands as one of India’s most challenging tests to conquer. Year after year, numerous candidates embark on the rigorous journey of preparation, but only a select few manage to succeed, owing to their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts. Today, we introduce you to an inspiring individual, Mansi Sonawane, hailing from Aurangabad, Maharashtra. In the year 2021, she achieved a remarkable feat by cracking the UPSC examination and securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 627.
Mansi Sonawane, now an IAS officer, was motivated to pursue the UPSC examination by her father, Narendra Sonwane, who had aspired to become an IAS officer but worked as an accountant. Mansi Sonawane completed her undergraduate studies at the Government College of Science in Aurangabad. Additionally, she successfully cleared the medical entrance examination, NEET, following her Class 12 board examinations.
Initially considering a path in MBBS, Mansi Sonawane had a change of heart upon learning about her father’s unfulfilled dream. She made a significant decision to forgo her MBBS plans, enrolling in a BA program, and began her dedicated preparation for the UPSC examination. Mansi Sonawane’s persistence paid off when she successfully cleared the UPSC exam on her third attempt, achieving her goal of becoming an IAS officer.

Her initial attempt at the UPSC exam followed her graduation, but it was her second attempt where she faced setbacks due to preparation errors. However, it was in her third attempt that IAS officer Mansi Sonawane achieved a significant milestone by successfully clearing the prelims, mains, and interview rounds.
Offering inspiration to fellow UPSC aspirants, IAS officer Mansi Sonawane emphasized the importance of perseverance, stating, “Hang in there; it’s not an easy journey.
